Client: Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation
Event: Peebles Corner Festival
Evolving from its roots as a food truck festival, this celebration for the Walnut Hills community took on a new name and look as The Peebles Corner Festival; paying tribute to the historic site and bringing back a true street festival atmosphere. Portón kicked off the project with a community brainstorming session to define festival goals which supported ideation of a new name and brand. Together with WHRF Director and graphic designer, we developed a bright, connecting and fun concept to showcase the intersection of food, fun and culture.
Portón led the structure for vendor inquiries and outreach resulting in 34 unique vendors, including custom craft and art experiences such as candle making, print screening, and flower arranging. We led booking of music and dance performances featuring DJ Pillo, School of Rock, Mambo Combo, Jess Lamb and Siri Imani, and DANCEFIX.
Along with programming, scheduling, and event mapping, we also led the process and communication if City of Cincinnati street closure and event permitting.
The operational event support enabled the hosting organization the bandwidth to focus on key partnerships resulting in surpassing event sponsorship goals.
